DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from trucks, dollies, etc. Moves heavy boxes or cartons by hand, hand-truck, or dolly. Using shovel, dig ditches where grading and sloping is not required. Runs hand and powered lawnmowers. Collects and empties garbage cans. Washes and waxes cars and trucks by hand or using powered buffer. Fills holes with dirt and levels bumps and low places using shovel, hand tamper, and rake. Cleans small trees and bushes using hatchet, handsaw, or clipper. Moves and arranges furniture as directed. May shovel snow and dirt from sidewalks. Cleans assigned facility to include but not limited to floors, walls, ceilings, restrooms, showers, and sports courts/fields, both indoors and outdoors. Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge and skill sufficient to run lawnmowers and use hand buffers, hatchets, saws, hand and other tools requiring the same level of knowledge and skill. Knowledge and skill sufficient to read signs and follow simple oral and written instructions. Ability to work safely while moving light to heavy weight objects. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Knowledge and skill to perform simple custodial duties. *Work may be performed outdoors in all working conditions.
Some positions have special requirements. Selection may be tentative pending the completion of the satisfactory employment reference checks and receipt of proof of education (where applicable). Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required.
