NAS Meridian MWR is proud of the many outdoor fitness areas which include:  three horseshoe pits, a 2.5 mile jogging trail, a 400m running track; an outdoor fitness multi-gym, lit tennis courts; two basketball courts, a beach volleyball court, a multi-use field (for flag football and soccer) and two softball fields. Gear issue for these areas is located inside the fitness center.

The Fitness Center hosts a total of 10 tournaments throughout the year for sports like racquetball, tennis and cornhole, along with 8 leagues for flag football, soccer, softball and basketball, amongst others. A total of 10 runs are held, ranging from fun runs to duathlons. Most of the leagues and tournaments are for authorized patrons ages 18+, while runs are open to authorized patrons of all ages.

Join us at NAS Meridian to participate in our annual region-wide Navy Birthday Run presented by Geico Military! Runners will be competing against local runners as well as the runners from all 16 Navy Region Southeast installations!

Event is free and open to all MWR eligible patrons (Active Duty Personnel, Retirees, Reservists, DoD Civilians, their dependents and guests, and contractors working full time on the installation).

All runners will receive a free commemorative t-shirt (while supplies last.)

The top 3 male and female runners will receive custom medals and the regional top 3 male and female runners will receive custom plaques.

The Sonny Montgomery Fitness Center has everything you need to meet your fitness goals! Workout at your own pace with the Fitness Center’s wide array of state-of-the-art fitness equipment, including weights, cardio machines and TRX stations, or join in on our free group exercise classes (personal training also available)! Additional amenities include indoor and outdoor basketball courts, softball fields, tennis courts, racquetball courts, indoor and beach volleyball courts, a 2.5-mile jogging trail, quarter-mile running track, men’s and women’s saunas (located in the locker rooms), a multi-use room with a family fitness area and an outdoor NOFFS space.
