MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is under the direct supervision of the Community Recreation Manager, Recreation Division, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Department, Naval Air Station Meridian, MS. The purpose of this position is the maintenance and upkeep of recreational facilities and equipment to ensure they are in excellent condition. Duties include: digs and rakes ground, cut turf using hand and power mowers, repairs walkways and other areas, tire removal/repair/rotation, operate shop tools, assists in cleaning/repair/storage of recreation equipment, drives a vehicle to retrieve and launch boats/inspects pier and campsite area for cleanliness and unauthorized campers, performs lawn maintenance and general up-keep of campsites and dock areas, ensures sports fields are kept in excellent condition for sports events. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of the use of power equipment such as mowers. A certain degree of manual skill is required in driving a vehicle and pulling a trailer. Works involves occasional lifting and the occasional carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Continual bending, stooping and reaching are required in this position.

Some positions have special requirements. Selection may be tentative pending the completion of the satisfactory employment reference checks and receipt of proof of education (where applicable). Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm selectee’s eligibility to work in the United States. Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. For positions requiring travel more than twice per year, selectee will be required to obtain and maintain in good standing a Government-issued Travel Card for official government travel purposes.

SPOUSAL PREFERENCE
The time period of eligibility for spousal preference begins 30 days before the military member's reporting date at a new duty station outside of the current duty station's commuting area and applies without time restriction except that spouses seeking preference with less than six months’ time remaining in the area may be non-selected. You MUST attach spouse preference application for each position you are applying for. Attach a copy of spouse's PCS orders and copy of marriage license/certificate.

BENEFITS
