Auto Shop

The Auto Shop is located in Building 272 and is by appointment only. All work at this facility is $5/hr, paid in advance at the Ponta Creek Complex. Lifts, tools and wash rack/supplies are available. A 24 hour notice is required for weekdays. Two week’s notice is required for Saturdays. For booking, call (601) 679-3437.

Camping & Picnics

Picnic areas are available at the School Aged Care Center, Fire Station #2, Bernath Field, Lake Martha, Lake Tant, Lake Helen, Eagle Point stables, the Fitness Center Beach Volleyball Court and Swimming Pool, and at the Community Recreation Complex.

Grill areas are available at Lake Tant, Lake Helen, Eagle Point Stables, the Fitness Center and the Community Recreation Complex.

Camping is available at Lake Martha, adjacent to the Pavilion area.  Showers and restrooms are provided.

Community Recreation Services

Information and Resources: Research and provide information and referral to a variety of recreational opportunities for individuals/families, on and off base.

Visiting Squadrons: Coordinate the military group visits and ensure visitors have access to MWR or appropriate off base activities.

Outdoor Recreation Equipment Rental: Community Recreation provides a wide variety of out gear rentals.

Trip Organization/Coordination: Organize trips to various venues to off base locations.

Tickets: Provide access to tickets to local and national attractions.

Party/Picnic Support Equipment: Loan or rent chairs, tables, stage, grill, etc., for individuals or private parties.

Travel: Make available individual cruises or vacation packages.

Eagle Point Stables

The stables include 45 acres of pasture, a lighted arena, a training pen, beautiful scenic trails, a barn, large stalls, hot walker, feeders and hay racks. Eagle Point is open for authorized patrons only. For more information, call (601) 679-2609.

Golf Course

The Community Recreation Complex's Golf Course is a beautiful 9-hole, 3,200-yard, par-36 course that winds through the Mississippi woods on board NAS Meridian.

The facility features a driving range, putting green, and Pro Shop stocked with the latest in golf equipment and apparel. The greens are tiff dwarf Bermuda and the tees and fairways are common Bermuda.

The golf course is open to the public and hosts many tournaments and scrambles throughout the year. The golf course is open seven days a week and the hours of operation vary with the time of year.

Hunting & Fishing

Fishing is available at Lake Martha, Lake Tant and Lake Helen. Hunting is available throughout the installation, and requires a state permit, base permit, state-approved safety course and installation hunter safety brief. Hunting and fishing licenses for the state of Mississippi and for NAS Meridian can be obtained through the Community Recreation Complex.

Lemon Lot

Sell privately owned automobiles, motorcycles, boats, RVs and other vehicle types! The Lemon Lot is $20 for Active Duty military personnel, Retirees, Reservists and their Dependents, and $25 for DoD Civilians.

McCain Recreation Center

The McCain Recreation Center offers a wide variety of social and recreational activities, including eight synthetic bowling lanes with automatic scoring systems, eighteen holes of indoor putt-putt golf, an arcade area, a Pro Shop, a Subway restaurant and a 36-seat movie theater with a collection of over 800 movies (scheduled movies are shown daily). Special bowling and putt-putt rates are available for birthday, command, holiday and organizational parties. Bowling leagues run throughout the year.

The Rec Center is a Wi-Fi facility.

Privately Owned Vehicle Storage is available behind the Bernath Field Parking Lot and is authorized for automobiles, RVs, boats, and trailers.

Shuttle Service

The MWR shuttle service is available seven days a week for travel around the base. Stops are made at the Fitness Center, Housing, Liberty Center, McCain Recreation Center and Community Recreation Complex/Rudders every fifteen minutes.

This service is available to ages 18+ and active duty military personnel.

Mini Storage Units are available behind Fire Station #2 on Allen Road.

Trap & Skeet

Located on Mud Road between Lake Martha and Eagle Point Stables.

Users must provide their own guns, ammo and clays.

Shotguns must be declared every time when entering the front gate, must be registered with security the first time a new one is brought and may not be taken to any other facility on the installation, even when secured in a vehicle.

The range cannot be used unless a RSO is present and the appropriate installation office notifies IAW NASMERINST.

The Liberty Center

The Liberty Center offers many activities for single (including geographically single) and unaccompanied Active Duty personnel both at the facility and through trips. Features of the facility include a TV/movie room with massage chairs, video game room (PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, etc.), recreational room (basketball hoop shoots, foosball, ping pong, air hockey and regulation tournament pool tables), music room, kitchen and study area.

The Liberty Center is a Wi-Fi facility.
